The autobiography of the author's experiences as secretary to Wilhelm Furtwängler and manager of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Forced to flee Nazi Germany in 1935, she ended up in England and performed the same roles for Sir Thomas Beecham and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
