I HAVE been asked to say something about my husband’s love for the Bible and his method of making his Annotations in the book.When he retired from the Bengal Civil Service in 1896, he decided to devote himself to three objects — the study of the Bible, writing his books, and painting pictures. These occupations so filled his time till his death in 1916 that the days never seemed long enough for him.
